Derwentwater Lodge 6375

Event date: 2016-02-23

Michael ( Jammy ) Robinson, newly installed Master of Derwentwater Lodge, having heard of the flooding problems suffered by the 3rd Keswick Brownies following Storm Desmond, decided to assist by donating all the proceeds from the charity collection at his recent Installation.
The magnificent sum of £427-10 was handed over to Helen Smith, Green Owl, and Nicola Leah, Purple Owl on Tuesday 23rd February 2016, in front of a much exited group of 16 young ladies in their new headquarters at Castlerigg Manor, Keswick. The money will be used to replace damaged sports equipment following the storm.

On the same evening he presented Miss Elizabeth Barraclough, Convenor, Friends of Keswick Parks, with a cheque for £500 towards the proposed Sensory Garden in Fitz Park. The project will provide an area where disabled people of all ages, and the elderly, can enjoy a walk or ride in their wheelchair through the garden that appeals to all the senses. Plans have been passed and the work is planned to start in May 2016.
