Beacon Lodge Supports the RNLI

On the 9th March 2015 brethren from Beacon Lodge in Pocklington braved the elements to present a donation to the Life Boat Station at Bridlington. W. Brother Ivor Loney the Steward of the lodge accompanied by W. Bro. Derek Boothroyd presented the cheque to Mr Chris Brompton the Chief Mechanic at the station.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is the charity that saves lives at sea by providing on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. Since 1824 they have pioneered developments in lifesaving at sea and there lifesavers have shown unfailing courage and selflessness.

With their lifeboats, lifeguards, safety advice and flood rescue, they are committed to saving lives and do in fact rescuing on average 23 people a day. They have an active fleet of over 340 lifeboats, which can reach people in all kinds of situations and locations.
